A Little History
The Kitchen at the Sheppard Mansion is equally bound by old world tradition and new world innovation. Housed in the original home kitchen of Harper and Henrietta Sheppard, The Kitchen is the backbone of the Sheppard Mansion property, producing hand crafted foods for The Carriage House Market, an unrivaled experience in the Dining Room and breakfast for Inn guests.
Under the direction of Chef Andrew Little, chefs in The Kitchen at the Sheppard Mansion produce food that is inspired by the area and built on the finest raw ingredients available. Often these ingredients are found within minutes of The Kitchen, either in the Culinary Gardens, Herb Garden, Sheppard Mansion Farms or a lengthy array of local growers and producers.
Today, as it was in 1913, the food produced in The Kitchen at The Sheppard Mansion reflects a sense of place and a sense of personal commitment to producing to the best possible end product from the best possible raw product.
